HPP Nurek is the largest HPP in Central Asia which consists of 9 units, 375 MW each. Rehabilitation of HPP Nurek in Tajikistan consists of 2 phases. During the first phase rehabilitation of 3 Units will be performed and in the second phase the remaining6 units will be refurbished. Refurbishments consist of complete replacement of hydromechanical equipment, generators, control and protection system for each unit including auxiliary systems.

OTRAKS team was involved in the following activities:

  • Electrical supervision during refurbishment of the first two Units – 2 EPS supervisors
  • Electrical installation team – During Unit 1 refurbishment, our electricians were part of the team for electrical connections on the turbine and generator electrical systems as well as auxiliary system and common system
  • Installation of IPBD on 2 Units – installation lead with local group and welding of the busbars
  • Mechanical work during the rehabilitation of the spherical valves on Unit 1 and Unit 2

At the moment, our team is active on the installation of IPBD system on the third unit where our supervisors are leading the installation together with staff from local subcontractors and our welders are doing aluminum welding of the IPBD.
